Test Score Arcs before it ships
Score Arcs beta testing. Open to anyone who wants in.
Join
On Android, joining swaps your install for the test build the next time the Play Store updates it, and your data stays where it is. On iPhone you'll install Apple's TestFlight app first, which is where test builds live. Both are free, and you can leave whenever you like.
What this is
Score Arcs tracks how a quartet or chorus scores over time, and lets the people in it follow along.
Test builds come out well before public ones, often several a week. They have the new things in them first, and sometimes the new problems too: a feature that half works, a screen that looks wrong, the occasional crash.
What I need from you
Tell me when something breaks, and roughly what you were doing. That's the whole job. “The list screen went blank after I renamed something” is worth more than a bug report with a stack trace, because it tells me where to look.
Report from inside the app: Account → About → Report an Issue. It sends the version, your device and your account along with your note, which usually saves a round of “which build were you on?”. If the app won't open far enough for that, use the contact form.
About your data
Your competitors and their contest history live on your device, and back up to your account when you sign in. A test build reads and writes the same data as the public one. I do my best to make sure a test build never damages it, and most never come close, but that risk is the one real cost of being a tester. Worth knowing before you join.
Leaving
Android: open the same Play link and choose to leave the programme, then reinstall from the store to get the public build. iPhone: delete the TestFlight copy and install Score Arcs from the App Store as normal.
